, pretended interpersonal relationship, fear of bosses, mistrust and endless infighting what can I do as a team building facilitator?

The Team Doc Says:

Well

, you've got your work cut out for you. Plan on this being a long term intervention. You can bet the team didn't get this way overnight and there is more than likely some deep seated history and company cultural issues that have helped them get into this mess.

I'd start with a survey to determine some of the underlying issues that are the cause of all the discord on this team. Conduct this survey at the team level and then once your results are compiled, use that data to formulate additional questions to ask at the individual team member level. Meet with each team member one on one to further dig into the root cause of the team building problem.

Then start from scratch. Just like kicking off a new team. Make sure you identify the company sponsor - someone at the leadership level who takes responsibility for this team - and that you have the scope and boundaries for the team identified. If possible, identify the team's stakeholders before you move forward also.

Next you'll want to go through the team chartering process. Identify mission

, values, goals and operating procedures and autonomy level for the team. If the sponsor is not involved, make sure you get some buy in with him her along the way.

That's all there is to it! Seriously though

, this is going to take you a long time of intense work with this team. Plan on it. You've got to take them back to step one in the team building process to the forming stage and start anew. And along the way you'll need to overcome the obstacles that have caused them to get to this point.

Let me know your progress as you go along. You can send me a message via the Team Doc form by clicking on the link in the right hand column or by leaving a comment right here on my blog.

Denise O'Berry (aka 'Team Doc') provides tools, tips and advice to help organizations build better teams. Find out more at I love Toronto. It is one of my favorite cities. It is called a mini New York because if has all you would ever want entertainment wise. You can see a first class play, hear a great concert

, and get a top class meal at many of the restaurants in Toronto.

Toronto is one of the cleanest cities in the world. With as many people that live in Toronto this is saying a lot. The whole city is clean conscious and everyone does their part to keep the city clean. And you can find some of the finest steakhouses in Toronto.

The restaurants do their best to obtain some of the best prize winning beef on the east coast. Some steak houses have been serving the some quality type steaks for over sixty years. They have customers who have been eating there since their grandparents brought them. Toronto has one of the best metro systems in the world. You do not need a car to get around the city.

There is a subway, a trolley system, and a bus line you can use to get anywhere you need to get to in Toronto. Some of the best seafood can be found at Toronto restaurants. Do you like lobster? You will find none better outside of Toronto. Perhaps you like Sushi. Toronto has some of the most delicious Sushi on the continent.

One of my favorite restaurants bakes baskets of garlic and then uses the garlic to create the most wonderful garlic bread toast I have ever had. I know it was more than the oven baked garlic that made it the best garlic bread I have ever had

, but the chef would not share his recipe with me. I do not blame him. I certainly will not let that keep me from coming back again and again. I took an order to go with me that day. Toronto is also one of the safest cities in the world.

Given the size of their population I would call them the safest large city in the world although I cannot verify that. But I certainly feel safe when I am in Toronto. Which means I can stroll around the city looking for a new Toronto restaurant without being afraid of any crime; who wants to lose ones appetite when looking for a good meal anyway?

I think my favorite type of food is Italian. And the best lasagna I have ever had was in Toronto. It was a combination of chicken, spinach, broccoli

, and three different chesses. But it was the perfect pasta sauce that made the meal. Almost all finer Toronto restaurants have an excellent wine selection.

And if you did not know this already, the nicest people in the world are Canadians. For such a large metropolitan city you might expect to be treated less than politely at times. This is not the case in Toronto. You will feel like a welcome guest wherever you go. And in each restaurant I have eaten in Toronto I felt like a member of the restaurants family. And the prices are very reasonable everywhere at every restaurant I ate at. Go to restaurants in Toronto for a great meal, great service

, and good prices. There are plenty of golfers that enjoy walking the golf course. It is a relaxing way to spend the day and it is a good form of exercise. Some golfers believe walking improves their scores.

Unfortunately walking 4 to 5 miles around the course can give you blisters, but this can be easily prevented by choosing the right golf shoes and taking a closer look at the materials that are designed to look after your feet. The good thing is most of the materials come with your shoes as standard.

The primary cause of blisters is friction, sweaty feet and excess heat. Friction can be prevented by choosing shoes that are roomy and give you a snug fit so they feel comfortable. You don't want shoes that are to snug

, you want to prevent rubbing. Your golf shoes should have sufficient room for your toes. Make sure there is half an inch or so between your longest toe tips and the end of the shoe.

Let's take a closer .
